A meta-model specifies the vocabulary—classes, attributes, and associations—used to describe architecture content consistently. TOGAF and ArchiMate provide standard meta-models; organizations extend them for industry-specific entities. A coherent meta-model enables reporting, impact analysis, and tool interchange.
